LA PEROUSE
Local Aboriginal Land Council

Introduction

The objectives of the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council are to improve, protect and foster the best interests of all Aboriginal persons within the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Council’s area and other persons who are members of the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council.

ABOUT LA PEROUSE

The La Perouse Aboriginal Community is the longest functioning and only discreet Aboriginal community in Sydney. The current location of the community was a traditional camping ground and became the main community when the ‘camps’ around Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay were forcibly closed and members forced to live at La Perouse.
