OUR BACKGROUND

BACKGROUND OF THE LAND COUNCIL

The La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council was established under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) as the representative body for those belonging to the La Perouse Aboriginal community. The La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council is an autonomous body which is governed by a Board elected by the local Aboriginal community.

Today, La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council is focussed on providing effective services to the local Aboriginal community and delivering projects determined by the community.

ABOUT US

The objectives of the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council are to improve, protect and foster the best interests of all Aboriginal persons within the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council’s area and other persons who are members of the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council.
